Recently, Google’s AlphaGo became the first computer to beat the human world champion at Go - a game humans were expected to always outperform computers in. This is just one example of the power of modern computers and our ever-increasing dependence on them, from making money on the stock market to flying planes.
During this summer school, you will use Python programming language to build your own robot capable of playing the simpler Connect 4. You will learn about different strategies, and think about how computers can use them and see how computers are taught to do so many things. Finally, you will pitch your program against the other students in a tournament to see who is the ultimate tactician.
