University of Bristol
The study of languages opens doors onto other societies, cultures and ways of seeing the world. The integral relationship between language and culture is at the heart of our degree programmes at Bristol, which help promote the personal and professional development of our students. At Bristol, you can study French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese and Russian at undergraduate level. We offer both Single Honours (e.g. BA French) and Joint Honours degrees (e.g. BA Spanish and Italian), and there is the option to pick up a language from scratch. You can also study a language with a subject in another School or Faculty, such as Law, Politics, English, History or International Business Management.
The Modern Languages and Cultures stream for Sutton Trust is an engaging and inspiring programme of taster sessions during which you will experience what it is like to study languages at university. You will get the chance to explore aspects of new and familiar languages through literature, visual cultures, history, thought, politics or linguistics. By the end of the Summer School, you will have discovered a range of stimulating topics that you can tailor to your personal interests if you apply to do a degree in Modern Languages.
