University of Cambridge
The aim of this summer school is to give a flavour of what it is like to study Physics at university. There is a five-lecture course entitled `Mechanics and Special Relativity' which is a shortened version of a very similar set of lectures given to our first-year students. This is accompanied by a set of problems to work through during the course. At the end of the week you will experience a Cambridge `supervision' (i.e. tutorial), where you go over your attempts at these problems with an experienced supervisor. There are also practical sessions, similar to those undertaken by our first-year undergraduates, and other physics lectures of more general interest.
