University of St Andrews
Classics and History: The study of history - the recovery and analysis of the full range of human activity over time - is rewarding as it is challenging. Having historical awareness of past cultures and civilisations help us recognise that our own cultural and social values are not the only ones that people have lived with. The Summer School also allows you to explore Classics: the study of ancient Greek and the Roman world. Studying History and Classics at the Summer School will give you the opportunity to explore the various aspects of both History and Classics taught at The University of St Andrews. Through lectures and practical workshops led by academic staff you will get sense of what it would be like to study History and Classics at degree level.
Computer Science: Computers are everywhere. We use mobile phones, TVs and cars that include large amounts of software. Almost everyone has a computer in their home and many people enjoy playing computer games. These systems all rely on advanced computer science. When you study Computer Science, you will learn about the fundamental principles of the science as well as advanced techniques that are used for practical systems development. During the Summer School, you will explore various aspects of Computer Science taught at The University of St Andrews. Through lectures and practical workshops led by academic staff you will get a sense of what it would be like to study Computer Science at degree level.
