Computer Science: Computers are everywhere. We use mobile phones, TVs and cars that include large amounts of software. Almost everyone has a computer in their home and many people enjoy playing computer games. These systems all rely on advanced computer science. When you study Computer Science, you will learn about the fundamental principles of the science as well as advanced techniques that are used for practical systems development. During the Summer School, you will explore various aspects of Computer Science taught at The University of St Andrews. Through lectures and practical workshops led by academic staff you will get a sense of what it would be like to study Computer Science at degree level.
Modern Languages: The Sutton Trust Summer School allows you to develop your current language skills as well as exploring new languages not previously studied at school. During the summer school, you will have the opportunity to explore the different aspects of learning a language including culture and literature. Through lectures and practical workshops led by academic staff you will get sense of what it would be like to study Modern Languages at degree level.
