Studying geography at King’s enables you to examine some of the key issues facing the world today, including sustainability, global inequality, urban regeneration and gentrification, as well as the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation on society. Students on our summer school experience lectures on Human and Physical Geography delivered by experts in their field. As well as this, students will take part in an external trip for a river workshop in South London, and practical lab and computer sessions with PhD students. The mixture of BA and BSc Geography is an excellent opportunity for A-Level Students to experience undergraduate life on each degree programme before applying.

As experts in medicine, pharmacists are taking on increasingly important roles in modern healthcare teams, as well as enjoying exciting career options in diverse health-related sectors, from the hospital service and community practice to the pharmaceutical industry. As well as experiencing undergraduate-level lectures such as Diagnostic Microbiology and Infection Management, Pharmacy students experience lab sessions and cultural sensitivity practical workshops. King’s is one of the only Sutton Trust universities to offer a Pharmacy stream, so will be useful for those who want to try the subject before they apply to university.

Our PPL LLB degree is the first course of its kind in the UK to offer a combined Politics, Philosophy and Law course with a unique opportunity to fulfil the entry requirements of a qualifying law degree. This interdisciplinary course, provides you with access to eminent academics from three outstanding faculties and challenges you to think deeply about key political, philosophical and legal issues on a global level; enabling you to develop an understanding of the concepts and to think critically about the methods and approaches of each area. As well as covering sessions such as Legal Reasoning, Human Rights, students engage in Moot Court Debates and visit the Supreme Court. The content is led by top academics in their field, alongside enthusiastic Student Ambassadors.

Subject overview

War Studies at King’s College London enables you to understand why wars occur, covering current issues such as; weapons of mass destruction, security in the Middle East, transnational terrorism and the use of intelligence. We are the only academic department in the world to focus solely on the complexities of conflict and security. You will follow some of the undergraduate content with our academic members of staff, and will be supported by undergraduate students throughout the week.
