Subject overview

Since 1989, King’s Business School has grown into a leading management institution – and one of the largest in London. We’ve appeared in the top 10 for business and management studies three years in a row.

Studying Business Management gives students wide knowledge of the different topics offered at The Business School. Previous Summer School cohorts have focused on Leadership & Management, Capital Markets and Entrepreneurship in the classrom.

Outside of the classroom they have had unique access to mock live trading rooms and a guided tour around the Bloomsberg Offices.

Subject overview

The Dickson Poon School of Law, King's College London is one of the oldest law schools in England and recognised globally as one of the best law schools in the world (Guardian University Guide 2019: Law). Studying Law on our summer school gives students unique opportunities to attend lectures and seminars from the academics which contributed to our position as 1st in the UK for world leading research.

Outside of the classroom, students in the past have conducted mock trials at the Royal Courts of Justice, just a stones throw away from our Law School. They have also toured the Supreme Court and received expert advice on the admissions test, LNAT.

Subject overview

King’s is the largest centre for the education of doctors, dentists and other healthcare professionals in Europe. Within the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine, the King’s College London GKT School of Medical Education is responsible for the education and training of medical students. Headed by Dean of Medical Education, Professor Stuart Carney, the School has a thriving community of 2,200 undergraduate students. The Faculty is 15th in the world for Medicine (QS World University Ranking by Subject, 2018).

Students can expect practical workshops, clinical skills sessions, lectures and expert application advice. Our Outreach for Medicine Team have links with the world-famous Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals. While on the Medicine Stream students will follow the journey of a patient through diagnosis, treatment and recovery in order to better understand the role of a doctor.

Subject overview

We have offered honours degree courses in Pharmacy of the University of London since 1926 and, with the opening of our first research laboratory in 1952, offered postgraduate degree courses in pharmaceutical sciences. Since then the research activity of the Department has flourished and we are currently 7th in the world for Pharmacy & Pharmacology (QS World Ranking by Subject 2016)

Students in the past have explored the role of the Pharmacist in addressing global health challenges. In the classroom students have explored lectures on the challenges of treating infection. Outside of the classroom students have taken part in clinical problem-solving workshops to enhance their academic experiences.

Subject overview

Our Department of War Studies is the only academic department in the world to focus solely on conflict and security. The Department of War Studies is world-recognised as a centre of excellence in the study of all aspects of war, conflict and international relations with a focus on war as a human phenomenon.

Students have approached war and conflict through the ages with a variety of distinctive angles including politics, international relations, philosophy, sociology, history and strategic studies. They also had a guided tour around the Imperial War Museum, right on our doorstep.
