Why did you apply for the programme?
I am from a pretty small town in the East Midlands and I go to a grammar school for Sixth Form. I applied for the programme as I thought it was a perfect opportunity to see whether I would suit the university lifestyle.
Did you have any worries before attending?
I was a little nervous in the days leading up to the summer school because it was going to be so different from everything I had done before and was just not sure what to expect. I made some really close friends in the space of 5 days which completely amazed me. I was able to do all of the activities- my favourite being punting- with my new friends!
What were your highlights of the programme?
The Summer School gave me an insight into life at Cambridge University and provided me with the motivation to work extremely hard in my A-levels in order to get a place at a top university like Cambridge. I aim to go to university to study Human Sciences and following that set up my own business. If anyone were to ask me, I’d tell them to definitely apply! It was genuinely one of the best experiences I’ve had, it was so stimulating and so much fun, I made friends for life!
