How to Apply 2018-03-09T14:15:35+00:00

Unfortunately we cannot accept late applications.

The deadline for teacher verification is Thursday 15th March at 5pm.

Applications for our 2019 Summer Schools will open in January 2019.

Please note, you can only submit one application. Please ensure you thoroughly research the universities and courses on offer before starting your application. Multiple applications will not be accepted.

Universities will write to you directly by early May to confirm the outcome of your application. Please do not contact individual universities or the Sutton Trust to ask about the outcome of your application before then.

Step 1

Each university offers a bespoke mix of subject-specific Summer Schools. You can search for a Summer School by university or by subject by clicking here.

Step 2

Visit the university pages to learn more about their programme content and structure. This research is really important as we want you to select the right university and subject for you. Remember, your travel costs are fully covered so you can attend any university so long as it offers your subject.

Step 3

Once you have selected your university and subject, please complete our online application form. The application form will ask for information on your education and personal circumstances. Please note there is NO personal statement required as part of the application form.

The deadline to submit applications is 17.00 on Thursday, 8th March 2018.

Step 4

On the application form, you will be asked to submit the contact details of a teacher who can verify your application. Once you have submitted your application, your designated teacher will receive an email asking them to submit a short teacher reference. All teacher references must be submitted by 17.00 on Thursday, 15th March 2018.

Step 5

You will receive a confirmation email shortly after you submit your application. Your application will be reviewed by your selected university and they will write to you if they require any additional information.

Please do not contact the Trust or university about the outcome of your application.
