I applied to the program after I applied to the Hull-York WP program and despite getting rejected from there I was accepted...I was diagnosed with autism at 13, which impacts my self-esteem. Because of this, I was convinced I would not be able to become a veterinary nurse. I applied as a way to show myself that I am capable of becoming a veterinary nurse something I had only dreamed of for years. When I found out I had gotten a place, I was thrilled!
I was worried that everyone would know more than me but no matter how much anybody knew, they were treated with the same respect as everybody else. I have gained endless amounts of self-confidence compared to how I started which has been noticed by my college teachers and friends.
