I applied to the program after I applied to the Hull-York WP program and despite getting rejected from there I was accepted...I live in North Wales and come from a small village, Trefnant, in which have lived there all my life. I applied for the programme as I never had the opportunity to do anything like this before. I’m interested to pursue a career in medicine, which drove my interest further to apply.
I was a bit nervous about meeting and talking to everyone at first. However, a highlight of the programme was making connections with new people from all around the nation! I loved that I was also able to ask all my burning questions to medical students and discover what studying medicine is really like at university.
Since completing the programme, I gained confidence when applying for university. The programme has also prepared me for life at university when overcoming its challenges.
In the future, I’m keen to study medicine at university, become a doctor and work towards being a consultant. I also like the idea of writing a book detailing all my encounters of the programme and my journey.
