Biology involves the study of life at all levels of organisation from the molecular biology of virus replications to the study of animals and plants in their natural habitats. Biology touches on many aspects of contemporary life, from drug design and investigating the molecular basis of Alzheimer’s disease, to the migration and conservation of marine mammals. Studying Biology at the Summer School will give you the opportunity to explore the various aspects of Biology taught at The University of St Andrews. Through lectures and practical workshops led by academic staff you will get sense of what it would be like to study Biology at degree level.
This an Option 2 subject. You can choose one subject from Option 1 and Option 2. You cannot choose Medicine as both options.
