University of Warwick
From Cell Division to Disease: You will have the chance to explore the biology of health through conducting your own experiments while learning about some of the challenges faced by scientists and clinicians. You will explore some of the molecular mechanisms that regulate the activities of our cells by conducting your own experiment that will enable you to visualise macromolecules within the cell, from DNA up to levels of cells. In small groups, you will explore some of the health problems and diseases caused by abnormalities in essential cellular function from multiple perspectives including physiology, anatomy, health psychology and health ethics. Overall, the sessions will enable you to achieve a more rounded understanding of a disease from the scale of the cell through to the actual condition.
