This is a highly academic course where you will be engaging with new content. You should be ready to explore new topics and be challenged throughout the week.
The week will include:
• Lectures on a variety of topics covering the manufacture of goods.
• Content on the effects of manufacturing on our climate, and the health and wellbeing of humans.
• Research highlights from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the university.
You should apply for this subject if…
• You enjoy learning about a range of sectors and industries and how they play a role in the manufacture of products.
• You would like to explore the use of clean energy and it’s interplay with climate change and human health and wellbeing.
• You would enjoy learning about how Chemical Engineering and how it could help us address the challenges of sustainability, environmental changes, energy and healthcare.
You shouldn’t apply if…
• You do not currently enjoy studying maths or chemistry at school.
• You are less interested in studying a scientific subject grounded in real world situations.
What you will leave the week with:
• A better understanding of how Chemical Engineers make chemical products from raw materials
• A chance to learn how Biotechnologists use living systems and organisms to make products.
• An increased grasp of what studying chemical engineering at university would be like.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Have attained a minimum of GCSE grade 7 or National 5 grade B in Maths and a science. In addition, students must also currently be studying Maths and Chemistry at A Level, IB, Scottish Higher or equivalent.
