This is a highly academic course where you will be engaging with new content. You should be ready to explore new topics and be challenged throughout the week.
The week will include:
• Taster lectures on a range of science subjects.
• Practical, laboratory-based learning.
• Small group supervision sessions with the chance for self-directed study beforehand.
You should apply for this subject if…
• You enjoy exploring a wide range of scientific subjects.
• You want to experience learning about areas of science which you haven’t covered in school.
• You are interested in the natural sciences and would like to explore alternative to medicine.
You shouldn’t apply if…
• You are looking for a more medicine centric learning experience – consider applying for the medicine stream instead if this is the case.
• You do not currently enjoy studying the sciences in school – particularly biology and chemistry.
You will leave the week with:
• A better understanding of what it would be like to study a scientific subject at university.
• A picture of the steps of the admissions process for a scientific subject.
• A better understanding of the activities which take place in a Research Laboratory.

10 PROGRAMME PLACES
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Have attained a minimum of GCSE grade 7 or National 5 grade B in Maths and a science. In addition, students must also currently be studying at least two STEM subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, or Further Mathematics) at A Level, IB Higher Level, Scottish Highers or equivalent. |
