Computer Science (Informatics): Edinburgh is proud to house Europe’s largest Informatics research centre, and is currently ranked 4th in the UK and top 20 in the world for Computer Science (QS 2023). Computer Science (Informatics) is the study of information, computation and communication in artificial intelligence systems (e.g. computers) and in natural systems (e.g. brains, genes, living cells). Explore a huge variety of topics in exciting interactive classes...you may even get to build your own working robot! Previous summer school topics include cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and machine learning, robotics, software engineering, bioinformatics, and alien language translation.

Biological Sciences: Edinburgh is home to one of the largest biology departments in the UK, and is currently ranked top 5 in the UK and top 20 in the world for biological sciences (QS 2023). Biological sciences explores the study of living organisms, covering everything from the interactions of animals in their environment, to how genes are expressed. With such a broad scope, there is something for everyone on our purpose-built STEM campus. Previous summer school topics include human evolution & 'skeleton reading', Drosophila genetics, bioluminescent bacteria & water toxicity, community ecology, embryological development, and immunity & disease.
