Durham University
The Durham Department of Classics and Ancient History is one of the largest in the UK, and enjoys a high reputation in this country and internationally. We have a large number of full-time staff, who between them specialise in the languages, literature, history, culture, philosophy, and science of the Greco-Roman world, as well as its impact on later centuries up to the present day. We offer students a very wide range of modules, which summer school participants have the opportunity to explore in detail. Students may also have the opportunity to meet and network with current lecturers and PhD students within the Department. Please note that you don't have to have previously studied Classics or Ancient History to apply.
