Durham University
Durham University’s Department of Sociology is where academics, postgraduate researchers, and students are collectively developing and applying their ‘sociological imagination’ to a number of contemporary social problems. In our rapidly changing world, there has never been a more important time to look at the world through a Sociological lens and engage in theoretically driven research and teaching that makes a difference. At Durham this subject area includes Criminology, Sociology, Social Work and Social Reserach Methods, as well as a range of inter-disciplinary topics that cross one or more of them. Our leading research informs our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes which students at the summer school have the opportunity to explore. Students will also have the opportunity to network with current lecturers and PhD students within the Department.
