Have attained a minimum of GCSE grade 7 or National 5 grade B in Maths or Biology. In addition, students must also currently be studying Maths OR Biology at A Level, IB, Scottish Highers or equivalent.

This is a highly academic course where you will be engaging with new content. You should be ready to explore new topics and be challenged throughout the week.
The week will include:
• Lectures on a variety of topics, previous years have included sessions on cognitive, social, developmental and biological psychology.
• A taste of a small group supervision session with associated pre work.
• Seminar discussions with other students on the course and academic staff from the department.
You should apply for this subject if…
• You are interested in exploring such questions as; what accounts for the differences between people, what behaviours change between small and large groups, and why do people behave as they do?
• You would enjoy studying a subject which intersects with a wide variety of other academic areas, such as computer science, neuroscience, philosophy and sociology, along with many others.
You shouldn’t apply if…
• You do not currently enjoy taking a science (particularly biology) or maths course at school, while this course is primarily a social science, a basic scientific background is essential.
You will leave the week with:
• A better understanding of the content and skills covered in a psychology related course.
• Having had the opportunity to pick and explore an area of the subject which you found particularly interesting.
• An appreciation for the strengths of working collaboratively with a group of students and academics interested in similar subject material.
