Mathematics is central to everyday life and to the way we see the world. It is an intellectual adventure in its own right, but it is also used to understand the physical world - from gravitational waves to climate change - and to find solutions in business and industry. By taking part in Edinburgh’s summer school, you will be joining one of the UK’s top 5 universities for Mathematics (QS 2020). During the digital summer school, you will explore a wide range of mathematical disciplines through a mixture of interactive online classroom activities, independent study, and practical work. Our fantastic team of academic staff and students will work with you to explore engaging topics designed to develop your analytical and problem-solving skills, and have fun along the way! You will also have the opportunity to try out other subjects throughout the week.
Edinburgh’s Biological Sciences summer school gives you the opportunity to join one of the UK’s top 5 universities and the world’s top 25 universities for the subject (QS 2020). Biological Sciences is a flexible subject covering topics ranging from exploring molecular structures, to understanding how genes work, the development and behaviour of microorganisms, plants and animals, their evolution, and their environmental interactions and impacts. You will explore various core topics throughout the digital summer school with world-leading academics and recently trained young scientists. In addition to interactive online classes and group project work, you will even complete practical work from home! You will also have the opportunity to try out other subjects throughout the week.
