I applied for the programme to foster my analytical skills and become an appealing candidate to universities. I also wanted to immerse myself within a degree-style learning environment so that I could get a feel for University life and, at the same time, meet like minded people.

I was initially worried about not being able to cope with the demands of the academic side of the programme which I thought may have been required, however the academic tutors were very helpful and understanding. I felt as though my ideas were truly valued.

The highlight of my experience were the socials, where we were able to get to know other academic groups and combine our relative skills and strengths to come up with solutions to the challenges we were set.

I have gained confidence in my academic and analytical abilities as these were fostered and drawn upon by the academic professors, and my supportive peers who were also on the programme. I am determined to study Philosophy and Theology at Durham University!
