Why did you apply for the programme?
I currently study maths, physics and chemistry and am looking to study finance at university. I applied because I wanted a unique experience over summer that would give me a good taste of what studying and living at university is really like.
Did you have any worries before attending?
I was slightly worried about whether I’d make friends, but everyone was so nice right from the start I completely forgot about any worries I had. The university ambassadors are all really friendly too.
What were your highlights of the programme?
My highlight of the week was eating out at Pizza Hut in Nottingham city centre. It was brilliant because we got to see what the city was like itself which helped me to see myself studying there. It helped show me that university is definitely the right choice for me and that I can cope with moving to an entirely new place and make friends without having to worry at all.
What would you say to someone who is unsure about applying?
If you’re still on the fence, I’d say go for it. You have nothing to lose and an amazing experience waiting for you and you will meet the best people.
