Entry requirements

Have attained a minimum of GCSE grade 7 or National 5 grade B in Maths and a science. In addition, students must also currently be studying Maths AND Physics A Level, IB, Scottish Higher or equivalent; OR Maths at A Level AND a Level 3 vocational course in an Engineering discipline.

This is a highly academic course where you will be engaging with new content. You should be ready to explore new topics and be challenged throughout the week.

The week will include:
• Introductory lectures on a wide range areas of engineering likely including electrical/electronic, mechanical, materials and civil/structural engineering.
• Project work and experimental engineering.
• Cooperative group study time.

You should apply for this subject if…
• You would like the chance to explore a wide range of engineering topics in a collaborate and interactive format.
• You would like the opportunity to work in an engineering laboratory environment.
• You want the chance to develop your problem-solving skills.

You shouldn’t apply if…
• You do not currently enjoy studying maths or physics in school.

What you will leave the week with:
• An appreciation for the discipline of engineering and some of the real world applications which it encompasses.
• A better understanding of the study of engineering at a university level.
• A taste of practical engineering lab based practices.
